Residential Gutter System

The purpose of a gutter system, is to collect the water as it runs off the roof, and then safely transport it away from the structure. This protects the inside, and outside, of the structure from water damage, as well as, the foundation, and immediate surroundings.

A properly constructed gutter system is one that is “pitched to drain”. This means, that the system features a high back, or a flat-back gutter, paired with a separate piece of flashing, which allows the gutter to be “pitched to drain”. Properly pitched gutter systems use a 1/6” of fall per 12” of run. This causes the gutter to drain more efficiently, and helps it to stay cleaner, longer. Gutters flashed in this manner are particularly helpful because they can be pitched to drain so as to direct water away from drainage problem areas, such as, window wells, sidewalks, driveways, and gardens.

Continuous gutter systems have seams; they occur at the end caps, or at the corners. We recommend custom cut corners/miters because they only have one seam, and they are stronger than factory made corners/miters. In addition to being stronger, they also look better. Box corners/miters have three seams; strip miters/corners have two seams.

Mile High Seamless Gutters offers residential gutter installation, repair, and replacement services in the greater Denver area including: Centennial, Englewood, Greenwood Village, Littleton, Aurora, Parker, Arvada and more.

Residential Gutter Installation:

At Mile High Seamless Gutters we don’t just want your gutters to function properly, we want them to add curb appeal to your home as well. This is why we employ the hanger and screw method for installation. The best looking, and most reliable way to install gutters, is with hidden hangers and the appropriate size screws. The hangers are placed at each rafter (usually every 24”), and unlike the commonly-used spike and ferrule system, this method actually holds the gutters together, avoiding frustrating problems that are common with the spike and ferrule application. Gutter Materials:

Aluminum:

Pre-painted aluminum gutters are available in 5” and 6” options. They are anodized on the inside – a process that makes them durable, and corrosion-resistant. Aluminum gutters will not rust, and come pre-finished with a factory-applied baked on enamel coating that is guaranteed not to peel, or blister.

Galvalume Steel:

Galvalume Steel gutters are available in 5” and 6” sizes. This is a 26 gauge/.018 thick pre-painted steel gutter system. The system is painted on the inside for superior rust protection, and is pre-finished with a factory-applied baked on enamel coating that is guaranteed not to peel, or blister.
